Little Canons

Little Canons, a study for two pianos, was written for John Ferguson and Peter Henderson. The highly imitative texture and the syncopated motor rhythms create a sound that sometimes resembles music written by Steve Reich. The pitch material is more reminiscent of Stravinsky, with a flexible polytonal scheme guiding the rhetorical curve of the brief work.
